Student "sold" in mock slave auction at school in NJ A New Jersey school district is under fire for the second time this month after a substitute teacher allowed fifth-graders to “sell” a fellow student during a mock slave auction that was filmed. The incident was reported at Jefferson Elementary School in the South Orange Maplewood School District, the same district in which students studying colonial America this month at another school drew slave auction posters and hung them in the school’s hallways. The website said the activity was not part of the curriculum in the South Orange-Maplewood School District.“There was a sale of a black child by white children in the classroom,” Tracey Jarmon-Woods, parent of a student in another class at the school, told CBS New York. “If you’re demoralized — sold on a block in 2017 — it may affect you the rest of your life.” “I’m disgusted, really disgusted a child was bought,” another parent, who was not named, told the station

Secret service can't afford trumps family's lifestyle President Donald Trump’s frequent travel, large family and unusual living situation are apparently weighing heavily on the Secret Service’s budget. The agency recently requested an additional $60 million in spending for fiscal year 2018, according to a Washington Post report on Tuesday. Nearly $27 million of that was to be earmarked for security at the president’s private residence at Trump Tower in New York, where first lady Melania Trump lives with their 11-year-old son. The Secret Service also said it needed another $33 million to cover travel costs incurred by “the president, vice president and other visiting heads of state.”The Office of Management and Budget rejected the request, a source told the Post, which could potentially force the Secret Service to scale back on other operations, like investigations into cyber hacking, counterfeit currency, financial crimes or missing and exploited minors. The Post

Memphis Meats dished up deep-fried samples of the its poultry Tuesday in San Francisco, the Wall Street Journal reported , and those who sampled it said that while it seemed spongier than a whole chicken breast, it basically tasted like the real thing. The company also touted a piece of lab-grown duck served with orange sauce. But don't expect to see high-tech chicken tenders hit your grocery store soon: The company estimates it costs under $9,000 to make one pound of the meat, the Journal reported. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Chance and his child’s mother Kirsten Corley have come to a deal that’s “fair for their daughter, fair for them both,” according to Chance’s lawyer Tanya Stanish, who said the agreement will leave “substantial parenting time for both.” “Really, that’s the way it should be done,” said Enrico Mirabelli, Corley’s attorney. “And when you settle between yourselves, you leave nothing to chance.” Corley had been seeking temporary child support, a furnished home, and a car to transport the child. Chance will continue to live in the city, though he and Corley will live separately. Chicago Sun-Times is the same publication that wrote a editorial suggesting that Chance’s court issues contradicted his campaign to fund Chicago Public Schools, concluding, “After all,

21 year old pregnant woman killed drug dealer boyfriend used her as a shield A young pregnant woman killed in a shootout between a suspected drug dealer and Florida police died by gunfire from officers, not the suspect, according to officials. “Unfortunately, one of the rounds fired by a swat team member struck an innocent person that Andrew Coffee IV cowardly was using as protection … while firing on law enforcement officers,” Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar said. The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Alteria Woods. She was four months pregnant. Coffee – Woods’ boyfriend and the father of her unborn child – was not injured, police said. The incident unfolded shortly before 6 a.m. on Sunday, when police executed a search warrant at a “known drug house” in Gifford. Police said Coffee, 23, fired on officers as they attempted to enter the residence through a bedroom window. Loar described the shooting as “ambush style.” Via huffpost

Conspiracy theorists the world over can rejoice! One of the most notoriously evil men in the world is no longer with us. Former Chase Manhattan Chief Executive David Rockefeller has died at the age of 101. Rockefeller died in his sleep at home in Pocantico Hills, New York, on Monday morning as a result of congestive heart failure, according to a family spokesperson Fraser P. Seitel. The businessman, who had an estimated fortune of $3 billion, retired as head of Chase Manhattan in 1981 after a 35-year career. For every second in David Rockefeller’s long life, he’s been one of the wealthiest human beings on the planet. Like the devil in the song by the Rolling Stones, he has always been a man of wealth and taste. Growing up in a nine story house full of Renaissance treasures doesn’t make a normal child. If he were ever elected President of the United States of America, it would be a demotion. David Rockefeller is the only surviving grandson of America’s first billion
